Third episode of our saga dedicated to the tribute to the Manges by Mom’s Basement Records, this time we return to the USA, exactly to Ft. Wayne, in Indiana.
The Flamingo Nosebleed is a punk rock trio active for about 10 years, they toured several time US, Canada and Mexico, released two albums, an ep, a handful of appearances on compilation and as last work, a split in 2016 with our dear Killtime; well, a more than respectable career.
Last but not least, a curious connection with the Manges: two years ago the guys were backing up Andrea for a couple of gigs in Hawaii! Can we then say that theirs participation in the compilation is more than due? I would say yes.
We had the opportunity to chat with Jake Emissions, singer/guitarist and founder of the band who told us: What the Manges mean to me. The Ramones have obviously been one of my favourite bands, kinda goes without saying for everyone on this comp. That being said I came of age in a time when they were ending their career so I never got to see them. So to me, the Manges are the closest thing there is to seeing the Ramones play/release music. There are a lot of Ramonescore bands I love, but the Manges have always been the most influential to me.
Important words from Jake: for him basically after the Ramones there are the Manges, wow! I imagine that for Andrea & Co it is a matter of pride to know that their music can influence another band in the other corner of the planet. Continue Jack: When I get writers block I come back to tracks like “Hit the Punchball” to get amped up! That’s why we chose it!

Terzo episodio della nostra saga dedicata al tributo ai Manges a cura di Mom’s Basement Records, questa volta si torna in USA, più precisamente a Ft. Wayne, nello stato di Indiana.
I Flamingo Nosebleed sono un trio punk rock attivo da circa 10 anni, con diversi tour alle spalle tra USA, Canada e Messico, due album, un ep, una manciata di apparizioni su compilation e infine, come ultimo lavoro, uno split nel 2016 con i nostri cari Killtime; insomma una carriera più che rispettabile.
Infine, un curioso legame con i Manges: due anni fa i ragazzi hanno fatto da backing band ad Andrea per una manciata di date alle Hawaii! Possiamo dire quindi che la loro partecipazione alla compilation è più che dovuta? Direi di si.
Abbiamo avuto occasione di scambiare due chiacchiere con Jake Emissions, cantante/chitarrista nonchè fondatore della band che ci ha detto: Cosa significano i Manges per me? Bene, i Ramones sono ovviamente una delle mie band preferite, cosa praticamente ovvia per ogni band presente su questa compilation. Ma essendo troppo giovane quando stavano per terminare la loro carriera non ho mai avuto la possibilità di vederli. Quindi per me, i Manges sono la cosa più vicina nel vedere i Ramones suonare o pubblicare musica. Ci sono tante band Ramonescore che amo, ma i Manges sono sempre stati tra le band che mi hanno influenzato maggiormente.
Parole importanti da parte di Jake: per lui dopo i Ramones ci sono i Manges, wow! Immagino che per Andrea & soci è un motivo di orgoglio sapere che la loro musica è in grado di influenzare un’altra band nell’altro angolo del pianeta.
Continua Jack: Quando ho un blocco creativo mentro cerco di scrivere qualcosa metto su “Hit The Punchball” per avere l’ispirazione! E’ Per questo motivo l’abbiamo scelta!
